1. Service Description

TA-EDU provides an AI-powered Socratic tutoring platform for educational institutions. The service includes AI chat tutoring, course material management, knowledge tracking, practice problem generation, and AI-assisted grading suggestions.

2. Eligibility

TA-EDU is intended for use by students and educators at accredited educational institutions. By creating an account, you represent that you are either a student enrolled at or an educator employed by a participating institution, or that you have been authorized by such an institution to use the service.

3. User Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You agree not to share your account with others or use another person’s account.
• You agree to use the service for legitimate educational purposes only.
• You will not attempt to circumvent rate limits or access controls.
• You will not upload content that is illegal, harmful, or violates others’ rights.
• Teachers are responsible for the accuracy of course materials they upload.

Do not type sensitive personal information into the service. That means your real name, your email address, your student ID, your date of birth, health or medical information, financial or bank details, a social security or government ID number, or the same details about anyone else. Our AI provider’s terms prohibit us from transmitting this kind of information, and we ask you not to send it. We blank out what we can recognise before it is stored, but that happens after the message has already been sent for a response, so the only reliable protection is not typing it in the first place.

4. AI-Generated Content

TA-EDU uses artificial intelligence to generate tutoring responses, study guides, practice problems, and grading suggestions. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies.

• AI responses are educational aids, not authoritative answers.
• AI-suggested grades are preliminary and subject to teacher review and override.
• Students should verify important information with their instructor or course materials.
• TA-EDU is not a substitute for professional academic advising.

5. Data Handling

Your use of TA-EDU is subject to our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the service, you acknowledge that your interactions with the AI tutor are sent to the AI provider named in the Privacy Policy, and that the Privacy Policy states what agreement is in place with each company that receives data.

6. Institutional Deployment

When TA-EDU is deployed by an educational institution, the institution’s agreement with TA-EDU governs the use of student education records. The institution is the data controller, and TA-EDU operates as a service provider under the institution’s direction. Institutional terms supplement and, where they conflict, supersede these general terms.

7. Intellectual Property

• Teachers retain ownership of course materials they upload.
• Students retain ownership of content they create (messages, submissions).
• TA-EDU retains ownership of the platform, its design, and its underlying technology.
• AI-generated content (tutoring responses, study guides, practice problems) is provided for educational use and is not claimed as the intellectual property of any party.

8. Limitation of Liability

TA-EDU is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, TA-EDU shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to reliance on AI-generated content, data loss, or service interruptions.

9. Modifications

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the application or email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
